OK a while back I posted about a virus I inadvertantly downloaded on 12/27.
As soon as I go "on-line" my computer starts auto-sending dozens of e-mails.
Norton's AV fills my screen w/ "scanning email" messages. (yes the virus went
right past Norton AV 2005). My system gets completely flooded. I got some
great replies & downloaded @ least 7 different virus & maleware scanners.
This computer has been wiped to the bone, all to no avail. Also updated to
Java 1.5. Whatever is happening, it also distorts my desktop to folder like.
At one point I wiped out my network connection on computer & rebooted &
desktop came back fine. 2nd computer has been completely removed from network
w/ no effect. Is there ANY suggestion left?!! The reason I don't take my
computer in to repair like my car is I'm disabled & on very fixed income. The
car would have to stay broken right now. PLEASE HELP

Are you saying it's still there spewing out emails or it's a problem
with damage done to the system? If the former run HijackThis and post
the log to one of the specialty forums for it _not_ this one.

When you wiped your computer, were you connected to the internet? Did you
reinstall using SP2? How did you wipe your system? Follow the steps in my
clean install link paying close attention to not connecting to the internet
before setting your firewall.
Are you installing software you downloaded from the internet?
If you truly formatted the hard drive, it is very likely you are getting re
infected by not following the advice to set your firewall before connecting
to the internet, or you could be getting it from infected software.
