Disk Defragmenting error. iexplore.exe.mdmp?
Posted by ami on October 13th, 2005

I'm trying to defragment my computer because its sooo slow.
But there's an error saying
"the scan has been cacnceled because an error occurred in file:
C:\Documents and
Settings\XP\LocalSettings\Temp\WERb60e.dir00\iexpl ore.exe.mdmp"

What does this mean?! how do i fix it?! HELP PLEASEEE!

Try running ccleaner before defragmenting.

www.ccleaner.com

Otherwise, you're spending a lot of time defragmenting files that shouldn't
really be there. It'll also get you back drive space - potentially rather
a lot of drive space - that may be part of the reason for the slowdown.

The very first time it runs it can take a few minutes, as there can be
gigabytes of stuff to delete.

Run Disc Cleanup tool and then retry.

Yes clean out the junk by running CCleaner or the disk cleanup tool.
This would include ur temporary files, recycle bin files, temporary
internet files, cookies etc. Your system probably has lots of junk and
the defrag job is being interrupted. After that run chkdsk and then run
the disk defragmenter in SAFE MODE. In fact run a disk cleanup and
defragment regularly, this way it wont take long each time. I would
personally recommend a third party tool to do the job faster. Good
luck.
