Display problem AND Flight Sim 2004 problem
Posted by RC Bob on October 17th, 2005

Have consistent problem with display resolution dropping back to lowest color
quality after a reboot. Can reset from NVIDIA icon to best quality but still
reverts after a reboot. Uninstalled and installed latest driver. Tried 2
other graphics cards with same result. Using XP Home on Athlon 1.2GHz pc,
80GB drive (25GB used) with .75 GB sdram (tried removing dimms 1 at time and
no effect.) Any ideas?

2nd problem: FS 2004 disappears anywhere from 1 second to 15 seconds after
initiating takeoff. Even flying from keyboard. MS combat flight sim 3 will
fly for minutes before it too dies. I suspect a tie-in with the display
problem, but I may be wrong. Any ideas?

Oh yeah, system also seems to be running slow.

Thanks for any help - ready to junk the machine.

If you don't have a back-up of the system that predates the problem, I would
use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard under Accessories => System Tools
to save the settings and files you want to save to CD/DVD.

See this page on how to use the FAST wizard:

Then I would reformat the drive and reinstall XP.

You should save the files that you can restore to avoid reactivation.

See this page for the names of the files that you save:
