While trying to retrieve the lost icon of mhtml documents i have disturbed
file settings for .mht files in the folder option box. So now i am unable to
open my mhtml documents,ie web pages saved as web archive single file. Please
help. Thanks.

What do you have in File Types?
I have this as the "Application used..."
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" %1
Use DDE is checked
DDE message:
"file://%1",,-1,,,,,
Application
IExplore
DDE application not running

Thanks Ramesh for help but it is still not working i had to delete the old
mht file and after creating a fresh file i am now able to open my mht files
in iexplorer BUT..... in mime encoding ie in text only without any
pictures or graphics can you suggest some thing. Thanks again. cooledimran

Yes Ramesh show picture option is enabled in advance, multimedia section of
ie options. Question is that how to reassociate mht files with mhtml documen
[settigs disturbed?] My ie explorer is working perfectly well otherwise

If the problem is with file associations, then you won't be able to open the
..MHT file by double-clicking.

What if i change option to open all mht files with ms word instead of
iexplorer? will it work? if yes then will it disturbe the settings of
iexplorer? regards.

Why on earth would you choose MS Word?
What do you mean by "iexplorer"?
That is not a standard program. (Though iexplore.exe is)

dearest Alan! after reading your response extremely carefully i copied
settings suggested by you in my mht file settings exectly the same way
but........but ALAS!!!
results are the same. thanks anyway. i think i have to copy all my documents
in word document format so that i could atleast open them. regards.
