- Do I need to reapply Service Pack 2?
- Posted by Flashster on October 7th, 2005
I had to remoce the IIS component and reinstall it from the add/remove
programs panel. My system shipped with SP2 preinstalled as part of the OS,
and when I reinstalled IIS, no CD was required.
Do I need to download sp2 and reapply it to make sure IIS is patched
correctly?

Not sure about iis but if you go to control panel, system it willl tell you
if SP2 is applied. If it is applied you shouldnt have to reapply.

If SP2 was integrated into your version of the OS, then NO, you do not have
to re-apply SP2. Most os the fixes the SP 2 was giving have already been
included with your version.

Thank you.
If SP2 is integrated into the OS, you don't see the sp2 entry in the
'Add/remove programs' window, so its not possible to do it that way.
It seems that Yves is quite correct, and that when I reinstall components of
the OS from the sp2 intergrated files (from CD, network or HD) no
reapplication of SP2 is required.
