I've seen this problem mentioned before, but have tried suggested solutions
to no avail. I'm running XP Pro with 2GB of RAM. When I open an application
such as Word or Excel or Acrobat, it opens very fast. When I then open a
document from within the application, it opens instantly. However, when I
double click the same document (or it's shortcut), it takes about 20 seconds
for the application to start, and another 10 seconds or so for the document
to load. I have deleted all temp files, disconnected my network drives,
turned off Spy Sweeper and anti virus. Still no help. Worse, the problem
isn't always present, Sometimes, when I return from another application like
Outlook, a document will open fine the first time, but if I close it and
reopen it, the problem returns. Any ideas? Thanks.
