Does ClearType enhance CRT monitors too?
Posted by Cat on October 2nd, 2005

Hello, people!
I have a couple of questions and I would greatly appreciate it if you
could generously spend your time answering these.

I'm using Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2 installed) and a general
17' CRT monitor.

1. Does ClearType enahance CRT monitors too?
2. I'm using GeForce MX 200 using Windows XP's default driver
(Because installing NVidia's new driver installs unwanted shortcut
menus...). Will using ClearType cause significant performance
degradation? If it does, using lastes NVidia's driver could help?

Thank you. And have a nice weekend.

It is a matter of perception. Some I know say they like the effect. Others
say it degrades everything and they remove it to go back to normal.

Try it and see what YOU think!

I find that if one downloads the ClearType software and sets ClearType at
the lowest level, it improves CRTs.
