- Domain unavailable during sign on.
- Posted by Bill on November 2nd, 2005
Hello fellow admins of the world, please help me out with this before I pull
the rest of my hair out!
My office uses Windows XP Professional on all desktop/laptops. I have three
sustems (all desktop) which remove themselves from the domain during sign on
and I have to re-add them domain. I initially thought that it might have been
a nic issue and replaced the nic and still was unable to ping the dns/domain
controler server or even logon.
Anyone ever seen this before?

Are you saying you have to go into your Server AD and add the computer
account back to the Domain every time? The workstation itself can't
delete itself from the Domain during logon unless an authorized
account removes the computer from the Domain, then reboots.
This sounds more like an AD problem than an XP problem.
