- double/triple clicking starts application twice (two windows of Quake3)
- Posted by John Abraham on May 22nd, 2006
Hi All, On Kid's computer sometimes double (or triple) click starts an
application twice (For example Quake 3) (two windows) and the system hangs.
Is there any solution to stop this other than not double/triple clicking?
Your kindest most honest response will be appreciated.

You probably have his computer set to single-click to start an
application. Therefore double-clicking it will start the application
twice and, in the case of resource-intensive applications such as
games, will lock up the computer.
Either change the options back to double-click or, if already on
double-click, change the sensitivity.
The double/single-click option is found in Folder Options. The mouse
sensitivity setting is found in the Mouse applet.

Additionally, the problem could be from a bad mouse. I've had quite a few
employees this year needing their mice changed out because the button had a
"bounce" (double-click) problem.
This was probably caused by the pressure/stress to meet their sales quota.
