download problem

if i have a file that I am trying to download from a site, such has
playstation psp downloads, it will pop up/ find a program online to open. I
can't find anything to open it. I try to save it and then open it and it
doesn't work either any ideas?

and figure out what you need in order to access the files in whatever way
you expect to be able to that you download.

A simple example would be downloading a powerpoint slideshow. If you do not
have Microsoft PowerPoint or the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer (or some other
application that will allow you to view said file) - it will not work on
your computer until you get said application.
