- downloading and installing programs

having problems installing Norton System works. Error message advises to
disconnect my internet connection. The program is already downloaded but
installing is the problem. My question is a basic answer to most of you
however not for me. Where can I find the downloaded program on my computer so
I can Install it without re-connecting to internet and re-download it . I
saved it to my desktop but when I open that it only allows me to re-download,
not install. Help please

Thats a little hard for us to answer since we have no idea of where you told
the download manager to put it.
So why not redownload and this time pay attention and take note of the
directory where its downloaded to.
I personally always create a directory called....."download" and send
everything I download into that directory.
On a personal note I found Norton SystemWorks to be an overbloated piece of
shite.....
there are better anti virus programs that take a smaller footprint and less
time to run as well as numerous free versions of Firewalls/anti spams/anti
ad programs that work quicker and better.............but thats just my 2
cents

1. Your's is NOT an XP problem, but a Symantec problem. Contact the
Author of the app for help.
2. You're lucky, as if System Works installed, you may not have been
able to even post at all.
