- DVD drives stopped working under windows XP
- Posted by Brad on October 10th, 2005
Recently, my 2 DVD drives (internal DVD ROM and external USB DVD RW)
stopped working. When I try to access them, I get the message "H:\ is
not accessible. The request is not supported". Also when I insert a
DVD, the DVD icon in My Computer changes to a CD icon! I tried
deleting the driver in device manager, but have the same problem when
windows reinstalls the driver. Anyideas? Thank you

Hey Brad,
I ran into this recently at work, and we had to go to the manufacturer's
website of the dvd drive and upgrade the firmware. After the reboot it
worked like it was supposed to. You may have to do that to both of the
drives.
