I am using Bell South as my ISP. When I open an email using Bell South web
mail I can view both text, pictures, photos, etc. When I open "Outlook
Express" and the email is forwarded I lose all when I try to open the email.
The email is there but all of the message, pictures, etc is lost. Bell South
had me check some settings and they tell me that it is a software problem
with "Outlook Express." Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jack

It (filtering) is not a software problem, it's a internal protection to
keep your PC from getting infected by active content. Email is far
and away the biggest target for Phishing, Viruses & Trojans. I do
not configure any PC that uses Outlook Express to read any mail
except in Plain Text. If you want the content, it's easy to change a
setting and allow it to be shown/accessed.
OE -Click Tools, then Options, Security (TAB).
There are two options, both affecting email content.
- Do not Allow Attachments....
- Block Images and other Content...
Uncheck if you want, but understand the risks involved.

--- Outlook Express on my computer was already set at the configurations
that you suggested and still nothing. When I was with AOL I never experienced
this problem. Thank You for your input.

Your email isn't forwarded to OE, it's downloaded into OE. See...
WinXP SP2: What's New for Internet Explorer and Outlook Express
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/s...eoverview.mspx
Changes to Functionality in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2: Email
Handling
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../sp2email.mspx
General OE Caveats:
- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.
- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.
- Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a manual
compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm.
- Do not attempt to close OE via Task Manager or shutdown your machine if
Automatic Compacting is taking place (WinXP SP2 only).
- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.
