END PROGRAM: IEXPLORE.EXE

I need help. Often, when I try to shut down my PC, I get this message, which
suggests that an explorer window is open, when in fact none is. This usually
occurs when I start the computer and click on the explorer window and nothing
happens, taking a few tries before I can launch explorer. I have WinXP Pro,
Series 2, and have had the computer for less than 2 weeks. Help!

Some of those extra clicks are opening extra instances of the
program. You could see this in Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Delete).

I've found that for all its vaunted robustness, XP is particularly
fragile at startup and at logon. If you wait until the disk light has
stayed dark for two full seconds before you try to do anything,
you'll avoid a lot of problems. Such has been my experience, anyway.

Iexplore.exe is not Windows Explorer, but Internet Explorer.
