- Explorer.exe does not always load-blue screen
- Posted by Jim E on November 16th, 2007
I have Windows XP Pro SP2 on a Dell Latitude D820. Sometimes the
explorer.exe does not load giving me a blue screen. If I go into task manager
and start a new task, it will load. Any ideas on a solution??
Thanks in advance

Saying "blue screen" that isn't an error description. Watch carefully.
On that BSoD you have error number that can help you to find solution in
MS KB. ;-)

It depends if "blue screen" is shown for a quite long time or it only
flashes for a second. If blue screen is shown there should be an error
description at the bottom of the screen. There should be an error number
and driver (file) name that caused a problem. Do you see such things or
not? The other way to check what caused an error is to see event log for
details.

Left solid blue screen on for 20 minutes and no error messages or codes came
up. I formated the drive and relaoded rather then mess arround with it before
checking the event log.
Thanks for tring to help. Have a nice day
