- Explorer process crashes
- Posted by Jason Maynard on February 4th, 2006
On a client PC with XP Pro SP2, we ran into a problem where anytime Windows
Explorer is trying to be accessed, the explorer.exe process closes itself. I
have disabled all startup options and non-Microsoft services on bootup. Also,
I can access folders by opening Internet Explorer and then directing it to My
Computer. I do not run into this problem when booted in Safe Mode. I have
scanned the hard drive and it is clean of viruses and spyware also. Any
insight into fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated.
