Which one for back up? Hard drive or DVD? Need both. I have only
HP combo drive now? Any suggestions.

I would suggest investing in a good external backup drive
which will protect your data in the event of a hard drive failure
or system corruption.
Examples:
Maxtor OneTouch II

Western Digital Dual-Option Media Center

Where to Buy

If you got SP1 or better, go for a 200GB or more external hard drive and
enclosure THAT WILL WORK WITH YOUR BACKUP SYSTEM FOR RESTORATION as well as
backing up. And the type USB 2.0/firewire is compatible with your PC
capabilities.
