fan is making too much noise
Posted by Adam on February 6th, 2006

These days it has seemed like my fan on my notebook, (Inspiron 6000) has been
working way too hard. My roommate has the same computer pretty much and his
is a lot more quiet. It seems like mine is always sounding like its trying to
run or read a disk, or just processing too hard. I’m really not sure. It
doesn't seem to help when I restart either.
Thanks

I have cured this in the past by cleaning the fan blades.
The blades should be visible-usually in the back. Try some compressed air or
Q Tips.
