File created/modified date

File created/modified date: Posted by Rose on February 9th, 2006; I'm not sure really where to ask this. Can someone explain why the file
modified date would be earlier than the file created date? I have some files
I'm deleting and I'm going by the modified date but happened to check
properties of some and it says it was created after it was modified. I must
be missing something.
