Is there a limit to the number of files within a folder in WindowsXP?

Xp doesn't have any limits. Programs may. Disks do. If fat it is about 65 000 and if NTFS the number is very large (more files than will fit on a modern hard drive) but is a disk limit not a folder limit..

There are file system limits, not operating system limits. The FAT32 limit
is *64K entries* (that's "entries," not files and folders , because filees
and folders with long file names use multiple entries).

The NTFS limit is *much* larger. I don't know the number off hand, but it's
big enough that you can essentially consider it to be unlimited.

Possibly, as there always is a limit to anything. Generally tho, I dont
know of a number to tell you at the present time.
