I have an original copy of windows xp that came with my computer and when I
had to have my computer worked on because of viruses the guy put I guess his
version back in and now I can't receive updates or anything because I'm not
genuine how do I fix this.

That depends on many factors such as:
Exactly what version was installed.
What CD or restore method came with your computer.

Are you sure yours was not installed?
The message alone does not mean your installation is not genuine.
