Get "Search", not "Open", if click drive on "My Computer" screen
Posted by Bill on January 11th, 2006

Recently when I left double click on a hard drive in the "My Computer" screen
a search window opens up instead of the screen I want which is one that lists
the folders and files in the drive. If I right click on the drive icon, the
second item on the dropdown menu is "Open", which produces the desired
result. The first item in the dropdown menu is "Search." How do I make the
default so that the file opens when I left double click instead of producing
a search window? --
Thanks, -Bill

Try Line 18, right-hand side.

See my reply to your later post. No need to post twice within an hour.
If the problem is you can't find your posts consider using a
newsreader instead of the clunky web interface. It is a much better way
to access this newsgroup. XP comes with one free, Outlook Express.
Here is some information on how to set up OE for newsgroup access.
