When I start my computer that has windows xp on it I get "Windows Product Key
Activation- A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the
license for this computer. Error code:0x80004005"
I read on the Microsoft website how to repair this, but for the second
method I don't understand what it means by renaming the files.
Does anyone know?
I was also wondering if I repair it this way, will it erase everything on
the computer, or just fix the problem?

You have to have a little bit of computer savvy to rename files.
"Rename" means change the name of the file so that when Windows is
looking for it, it can't find it.

For example, if the file name is 12345.exe, you might name it
12345exe.old.

Umm... if you follow the directions TO THE LETTER, it will fix the
problem.
