- Hidden 'Owner' Account Dominates System
- Posted by Capt. O''Brien on February 23rd, 2006
I recently purchased a custom-built pc with Windows XP Home Edition
preinstalled. I understand that by default a user account name of 'Owner' is
created during the installation process when a user account name isn't
specified. I have been successfully able to create other accounts, but under
Documents and Settings the subfolder is always named Owner followed by a
character (for example 'Owner_2')
No matter how many different user accounts I create this still remains true.
I am of course unable to rename this system folders, and when my screensaver
prompts me to re logon to resume my session it automatically has the system
folder's name ('Owner_2') for the user account instead of the account name I
created. Is there any way to correct this?

Call the builder's support and request help for your problem.
If they cant help you, back your important files from your usable profile,
get your installation CD, windows key, installed program CDs and do a clean
format and reinstallation.
