- How to Add ShortCut Icon to System Tray
- Posted by Irshad Alam on February 26th, 2006
Could you please advise me to how to Add a shortcut icon to system tray
(notification area), just near the time watch display.
I found some third party software to do this, but the condition of the third
party software is that the software must be there, if we remove their
software it will not view that shortcut icon in the system tray.
My requirement is that is there any coding method OR some set up changing
method in windows XP, so that I will be able to do so.
Please advise .
regards to all

Start that particular program.
notification area
The area on the taskbar to the right of the taskbar buttons. The
notification area displays the time and can also contain shortcuts that
provide quick access to programs, such as Volume Control and Power Options.
Other shortcuts can appear temporarily, providing information about the
status of activities. For example, the printer shortcut icon appears after a
document has been sent to the printer and disappears when printing
is complete.
