How do I turn off "Unable to map networked drive"?
Posted by Robert S on October 19th, 2005

I have a drive (Z mapped to a remote computer over a VPN. This is only
activated when I log on to the VPN (which I often don't do). Whenever I log
into my XP account I get a notification in the System Tray to the effect
that the computer has not mapped the network drive. Is it possible to turn
this notification off?

Under Map Network Drive applet in My Computer, uncheck the
box that says: "Reconnect at logon". The only drawback is
the need to manually map to the specific network drive when
it is needed in the future.

Is there no other option? I'd sooner put up with the minor inconvenience of
looking at this message.
