- Hyperterminal Scroll buffer problem

I am using Hyperterminal connected to a serial device. The problem I have is
that any text that scrolls off the screen into the scroll buffer is
unreadable when I scroll back. It apeeras that it just overwrite old data in
the buffer, making it unreadable.
Are there any solutions to getting the scrollback buffer to work properly.
