I can see a folder, system can't.
Posted by Kardon Coupé on December 24th, 2005

I've got a folder on my drive, that I can't delete, rename or nothing. I can
see it (visibly with my eyes), but Windows can't.

When I right click on it, certain items don't appear in the context menu,
like "Sharing and Security" for example..

I have 100gb of stuff on this drive, and I really don't want to have to
resort to re-formatting.

Hope some one can help as this has been bugging me for some time now, until
now, I've chosen to ignore it, but I think.... "No, I want it gone"

Thanks in advance.

Regards.
Paul.

1. Close all open programs.
2. Open a command prompt.
3. Right-click the taskbar, and select Task Manager.
4. On the Processes tab, select Explorer.exe, and click the End Process button.
5. Minimize Task Manager, but don't close it.
6. At the command prompt, use the Delete command to remove the file, and close the command
prompt.
7. In Task Manager, go to File, New Task (Run).
8. In the Create New Task dialog box, enter Explorer.exe, and click OK.
9. Close Task Manager

Tried all options given, but still I get the reponse.

"Cannot Delete file: Cannot Read from Source File or Disk."

I'm guessing this is more serious than just a locked or insystem use file.
