IE cannot display webpage
Posted by R. McCarty on July 3rd, 2008

I just thought of one more thing to try. Using a Command Prompt Window
you can do a Trace Route ( TraceRt ) to your site. It will show you the
hops ( from your PC to the destination ) and may help diagnose why the
bookstore won't load.
Click Start, Run ( Type ) Cmd [Enter]

I've done that and this is what was displayed. I have no idea what it means.

1. 18ms 16ms 15ms
2. * * * Request time out
3-30 are the same as #2

Does this make any sense to you?

Thanks once again for your time!

It means that the URL was never sent or reached your default
Gateway IP for processing. It's basically like that URL/IP address
is in a BlackHole going nowhere. Do you make use of IE Security
Zones ? - placing certain sites in various categories like Trusted or
Restricted. More importantly is the bookstore in any of the zones?

No, I haven't ever made use of IE security. I just checked it and the
bookstore is not listed in any of those zones.

They are usually very helpful on internet problems. That's their business.
