Iexplore Error
Posted by Me2Ewe on October 4th, 2005

iexplore

Access violation at address 0D6CBCB7 in module 'axscan.ocx'.

Read of address 00000000.

I checked Task Manager and iexplore was running between 71000 & 93000 I did
have a Bagel.GB worm. Would that have an effect on it. This error has been
coming for awhile. Could the Worm have been hiding? I have done checks every
2 - 3 days with nothing just seen Worm yesterday.

Any ideas

B

Were you at this site at the time running the trojan scan?

http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

If so, it may be a fault in that particular scanning program.

I had just booted the computer, it does it now all the time I reboot.
Nothing shows as running anywhere except in Task Manager.
I ran that scan program the night before could it maybe left some trail.

You probably have a startup entry somewhere, relating to that particular
scan

You might find it via
Start > Run > msconfig > Startup (tab)
In which case uncheck that particular entry

or you could try a third party program to help you identify your startup
programs

Autoruns
http://www.sysinternals.com/utilities/autoruns.html

Startuplist
http://www.download.com/StartupList/...-10379545.html

Startup Control Panel
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

Put the name of any file / entry that you don't recognise, into the Google
search engine, and that will help you to identify what each startup entry is
for.
