- Installing Wireless Ethernet Card on Notebook
- Posted by Ger on February 26th, 2006
I am having problems installing a Linksys wireless ethernet card on my Compaq
notebook. The software installation disk allows me to install the software.
When I add the actual hardware card, XP recognizes it as new hardware found
and runs thru installation. The problem is that the hardware is not
recognized by the computer. I go to device manager and there is a yellow ?
next to the ethernet card. (Code 10). I uninstall the hardware and
re-install, but to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

Visit the support web site of the manufacturer of
your ethernet card and search for installation
troubleshooting suggestions.
