- Keyboard issues

I need some general guidance with my Keyboard.
I bought this computer yesterday and have it all plugged in. It works just
fine, but anytime I try and do a question mark, I end up with this: É (there
are other buttons as well that have french accents, but the question mark one
is driving me nuts the most -- that and the apostrophe one -- I end up
getting this: è ). . . I have tried to reset the settings and language, but
have little knowledge of these things.
Can anyone help me . . . É

It sounds like you 'might' have the US-International Keyboard Layout
installed.
I'm assuming because you haven't stated explicitly, that you want
regular US settings.
Do you have a little keyboard indicator [EN] on your Taskbar? If so,
right-click it and check the settings.
