Are users actually logging off or are they using Fast User Switching? If
the latter, then the machines simply don't have enough processing power
and/or RAM to do the job. Consider that XP should have a minimum of
256MB of RAM, more depending on what you are doing. The PIII machines
may be simply under-powered for your purposes and should be replaced.
Other than that, if you want more help you'll need to supply more
details. We don't know anything about the hardware specs, if you are on
a domain or in a workgroup, if these machines ever worked well, etc.
