- Long Shutdown time
- Posted by Trs80 on April 10th, 2008
When I shut down XP the "Savings Settings" takes 75 seconds and the
"Shutting Down" takes 15 secs. It didnt used to take this long. During
"Saving Settings" I dont see a lot of hard disk activity (drive light).
This is very long compared to all my other PCs.
Any thoughts on what might be causing this or some tips to speed it up?
thank you

One thought, do you have any programs installed that are set to do any
checking at shutdown, like spyware programs. ?
I know SuperAntiSpyware has a setting for that to happen.
