"Lost" folders and files only visible via "recently used" lists??!
Posted by Spencer Marlow on December 26th, 2005

Would really appreciate some help with a very strange issue:

I hold a large amount of music and video folders and files on a Lacie
external HD.

Recently, a number of subfolders within a particular folder structure
appeared to have vanished or been removed from the drive. The head folder
from which they were gone shows a count of 0 files.

Likewise, in the head folder of a a separate folder structure, a number of
files appeared to have vanished.

The missing files and folders are invisible via the "Open" functionality of
applications and via Windows Explorer alike.

HOWEVER - the missing files WILL still open when accessed via the "Recently
opened" file listings off the relevant applications ...!!??!!

Cab anyone help me diagnose the problem and restore these folders / files to
a normal status?

Many thanks
