- meaning of installation error message while trying to install Nero

I am going nuts trying to install an update to Nero 7. I get an error message
which says "Installation cannot create necessary temporary files in folder
[long path for temp folder]. Please check if you have write permission for
this folder." All of these Nero temp folders are read-only so I've tried
unchecking that box, but it hasn't made any difference. The system and the
account I'm in have full write permission. I'm stuck. Does anyone have any
suggestions? Thanks.

I am new to this group, I don't see any replies you may have received.
I get the same error, which plain does not make sensem, since in the
first pass of the installation it created the folder & wrote heavily to
it.
Did you receive any replies?
Did you find a solution?
Nero customer support was of no help to me.
