Whenever I minimise a window, whether it be a folder or a program, no icon
appears on the taskbar at the bottom, it just disappears. If I want to
maximise the window again, I have to open the task manager and click on
'Bring to front' in order to be able to see it (the folder or program) again.

Anybody understand what the problem is here? Thanks a lot in advance for
your help.
