Dell Dimension 4500

This morning I get this message on my monitor "monitor is in power save
mode, use pc to activate"

If I turn the tower off, and leave the monitor on the same message will
still appear. It won't go away and I don't know how to fix it. If I turn the
pc on, I hear it load up and everything, but the screen doesn't change one
bit. I have tried unplugging everything and replugging it all. Same message
on monitor.

Is something wrong with my monitor or my video card? Both are old, around
4-5 years, still running on bulky dell monitor and nvidia mx420 64mb agp
video card.

Start by checking the cable between the computer and monitor to ensure good
connections and no bend pins. Then try Alias suggestion.

ok the dell monitor works on another pc, but no monitor will display the
windows logon or bios on my malfunctioning dell.

Also the abcd lights on the back, A and B are orange, and C and D are green.
The power light on the front is a steady green

your memory cards are in place, and if you access to another memory card,
