Using WinXP SP2 and Intellepoint.

If I select text by click and dragging, I can only select portions of the
text.
If I hover the pointer over a hyperlink it changes to selected and back
intermittently although I don't move the mouse.
Today it was difficult to select icons in a window; the close button e.g.
The mouse trouble-shooter provides no answer. I downloaded the genuine
Intellipoint software from the web.
What's wrong?

Does this happen in *all* applications?
Have you tried getting the latest mouse driver and installing it in device
manager?

Did this suddenly start after installing the new intellipoint software?
If so do a driver rollback from Device Manager. Right click My
Computer | Properties | Hardware | Device Manager. Expand the Mice and
other pointing devices section by clicking the + sign. Double click the
mouse entry, click the driver tab, then roll back driver.

If it's not try a new mouse.
