- mp3 files become invisible
- Posted by Iain on October 12th, 2005
I cannot see my mp3 files when using windows ecplorer, music match nor Studio
9.
I get these messages
" stringpak for WMesaageDialog.cpp could not be found in the string database "
and
" LIBMGR_CANNOT_OPEN_LIBRARY_DATABASE "
this all started after I installed quicktime
I have (un)installed all a number of times, run WINDOWS XP repair
still nothing is visible.
Please, any ideas how to resolve this ? and please don't say format/install
XP...
though I have now moved all data to the secondary HDD as well as a DVD.

Perhaps making Musicmatch your default player for mp3 files will do the
trick. Also, try using Windows Media Player.

Thanks for replying.
I have tried that unsuccessfully, I have run the Reg Cleaner, - and still
the mp3 files remian invisible and I get the same error messages. It sounds
like a corrupt <system> file - but which one and how do I correct it

have you tried copying a backed up mp3 to your computer and then see if it
will play? Can you see the mp3s at all with any program or through the
command prompt?
