Multiple Monitor; assigning primary monitor.

The instructions for setting my primary monitor do not work. When I go to
settings in the "display setting" box and sellect a monitor I am unable to
reassign it as my primary. The box "Use this device as the primary monitor"
is greyed out and will not function. Any Solution?

I am running XP pro on a T42 think pad and using a Planar PX 212m monitor
that I would like to set as my primary.

thinkpad? is this a laptop?

try installing the latest drivers for the display adaptor
if its nvidia chip go to www.nvidia.com
if its an ati go to www.ati.com
