- My Pictures, My Music Folder Icons changed
- Posted by BadHead on October 31st, 2005
The folders icons for My Pictures and My Music folders have recently become
the generic folder icons. Any idea how to return them to the correct ones?
Thanks

Open up Windows Explorer. Start>programs>accessories>Winexp
Find the folder and click on properties. Click on the customise tad and from
there you should be able to change the image on the folder. You can even set
your own image!

Hi.
Thanks for your answer. I tried that a few days ago, but unfortunately that
doesn't work with My Pictures or My Music as they're system folders. Instead
you only get the 'General' and 'Sharing' Tabs. At least that's the way it is
on my system. I also tried to set folders to default using Start>All
Programs>Accessories>Windows Explorer>Tools>Folders Otions>View> 'General'
tab and 'Restore Defaults' button. This didn't work either.

My Pictures and My Music folders are displayed with the standard folder icon
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/specialicons.htm
Or.
from...
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_s.htm
Question: One of my special folders (e.g. My Documents, My Music, My
Pictures, Shared Documents, etc) has lost its name, lost its icon, or has
the wrong Task Pane template, how can I get it back?
Answer: This problem can occur if the hidden desktop.ini file in the special
folder is corrupt or missing. Here are the steps to fix this problem:
Illustrated, detailed instructions here:
