Name of Outlook Express mail file?
Posted by Bob on October 28th, 2005

My wife's computer has crashed (lost the Sam registry hive?) so I think I'm
about to reload XP which means I'll lose everything. The only thing she
wants to save (if possible) is her e-mails. I hope I can save it but I
don't know the name.

Thanks.

Save this folder (It is a hidden folder):

C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{F69BD556-5828-4D24-A72C-49BC888FC640}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express

Substitute your user name for USE in the above.
Then import the messages back in to OE

Address book:
C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

Hope that helps
