Newsgroup entries "Deleted from server"
Posted by Stephen Ford on November 3rd, 2005

XP Pro SP2, OEx 6 (up to date with MS Update)

Some of my replies arrive on the NG and are then deleted.

During recent use of this NG I watched some of my replies appear, and then a
red line draws through the Subject with red crosses at either end, and a
message appears "Deleted from server", and that's it - gone.

Any ideas?

You must have been blacklisted as a spammer.

Perhaps someone else knows how to find out if that is the case and how to
remove such a listing.

Try changing your server

eg For example, some of your messages in the "Administrator Account" thread

news:%237vJThs3FHA.3296@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl

seem to be missing on

msnnews.msn.com

but are present on

msnews.microsoft.com

Forget that post. There are 7 of them on that server too. My mistake.

Possibly, but it's a rare event and it might be one reply in a discussion of
many entries, where many of my replies are posted OK. If I was blacklisted I
would not expect a thread to even start.

For the record, my server is msnews.microsoft.com

Is there a server administrator to contact?

Sometimes unsubscribing from a particular newsgroup, closing down &
restarting Outlook Express, and then resubscribing, can sort out glitches
like that.

Also doing a bit of maintenance work via Tools > Options > Maintenance
is another thing to try

again... :-}
