ntkrnlmp.exe could not load

I have formatted my HDD and am trying to install xp home from cd. I get this
error. I have tested the memory, reset the CMOS settings to default, hit F&
when the F6 prompt appears all to no avail. This is a legitimate versioon of
XP and the CD Rom drive works perfectly. Any suggestions? I have read the
KB articles concerning this error but no suggestions have helped.

Thank you for your response, but I am not upgrading. Also I have tried the
hit F7 trick and it does not work.
