Parallel to Serial ATA
Posted by Jay Stevens on November 17th, 2005

I know this is a Windows newsgroup. But I wanted to give this a shot here
anyway.
I need to install an older (ca 2 years old) 120 g hard drive in a brand new
computer that only comes with sata.
Is it possible to buy an adaptor or some connector that would allow me to
use the parallel ata to the newer serial ata connections?

Thanks

Jay

Yes, an IDE->SATA Adapter, usually around ~$25.00 Sometimes
referred to as an Adapter Bridge.

Are you wanting to boot from the drive?
If no, then you could buy an external USB enclosure.
