PC running XP - bootup stuck at 1st bootup screen
Posted by Tedm on April 14th, 2008

I have a PC that runs Windows XP that I have been using for a few years. It
is custom built using an MSI 865GM3-LS motherboard and an Intel Pentium CPU.

On booting up it now gets stuck at the first bootup screen which displays an
MSI logo on the top left corner, and Intel Pentium Logo on the lower right
corner and some text in the middle that reads "8Xtreme Series",
"Performance, Durability, Stability",

I have reset the CMOS by setting the jumper to reset it, but still have the
same problem.

Help!! What is wrong? Is the motherboard bad, is it the battery, what is it?

Thanks!!

This appears to be a hardware problem, so posting your question in
a hardware newsgroup should be your first step.
