problem uploading large file to remote site
Posted by balentinei on October 8th, 2005

I am using xp professional. I am up loading a large file (1GB) to a 3rd
party
and am leaving the system to run overnight (1min per MB). When I return the
connection is broken. I have checked that the windows auto disconnect is not
switched on and I have tested the link on smaller up loads and it worked
fine. The isp allows a lot more than I am uploading even over a short period.
My RAM is 256mb and the processor is 2.6 GH. Any ideas why the disconnect
and what to do about it? The mail service I am using is Yousendit.

Not sure if this is it but in Device Manager expand the Network Adaptors
section, double click the NIC and on the power management tab make sure
to untic Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
