- problems with updates after a repair install
- Posted by sgopus on March 4th, 2008
I had to do a repair install of xp pro, now windows update, tells me a huge
list of updates are available, but none will install, it tries to install and
fails all the time.
I'm using ie6. can someone suggest a fix.
My repair install used a brand new OEM install cd with service pack 2b.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:

NB: Also applies to clean installs, upgrade installs, and Recovery installs.
