Program Stealing Focus
Posted by Ian Young on April 16th, 2006

Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me with this problem.

When playing games the game is often minimised to desktop. This happens
approximately every 15 minutes and is getting annoying. I can get back into
some games by just maximising the window again, but some games crash when
doing so, which means I can only play them for 15 minutes at a time.

I have noticed that every 15 minutes a program appears to run briefly (<1
second). A tab appears in the bar at the bottom of the desktop with a small
white box in it, but no program name. I have tried clicking on it when it
appears but nothing happens.

I need to try and find out what program is doing this and try to prevent it.

I have opened TweakUI and clicked on the 'Prevent applications from stealing
focus' box, but it still happens!

Any help would be much appreciated
